*Note: When viewing a full submission on its own page, from the **{{icon:arrow-top-right-on-square size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} (Pop-out)** icon, or from a direct, emailed link to that submission, the action buttons appear at the bottom of the submission, and there is no **Actions** or **Continue** button to access them.*

## Continue
From the **{{icon:paper-clip size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} Submissions** page, when a submission is **Pending On Me** to make any sort of addition to the submission's data before it can proceed, a blue **Continue** button will appear beside **History.**

Clicking **Continue** will load a sidebar from the right side of your screen that says **Additional Information Required.** It then presents you with the submission's data as it is so far, along with any portions of the form to be completed by you. Required form elements are marked by a red **{{icon:exclamation-circle size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} required** label just above their input box.

Once the required information areas are complete, you can select the **Approve** action button to move the submission to its next flow step, and it will no longer be pending on you. You can also proceed below this to the **Other Available Options** area that contains other action buttons to fit your needs. Most often these are: **Request Info, Send Back, or Deny.** Details about these default **Actions** are outlined directly below.
## Actions
From the **{{icon:paper-clip size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} Submissions** page, when a submission is **Pending On Me** for viewing and approval and there are no requirements to contribute additional data or input for the continued progress of the form, the blue button that appears beside **History** will say, **Actions.**

Clicking **Actions** opens a slide-out menu from the right side of your screen with **Available Actions** at the top. Next, the submission data will appear with clickable links for viewing and downloading any attached documents or photos. Below the submission data, the options for your action on the form are presented with color-coded buttons. These are customizable and determined during the form's build; however, the default buttons are as follows:

- ### Approve
You have viewed and are satisfied with the submission data and are allowing it to proceed with your approval.

There are two "Approval plus" options if you click on the {{icon:chevron-down size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} icon that is on the right end of the **Approve** button.

	- *Approve & View* - Approves the submission, then opens the full submission in its own window.
	- *Approve & Print* - Approves the submission, then opens the submission in its **Print View** form.
		- *This is for forms whose input data is set up to populate in a predetermined form presentation (ie: W-4, W-9, or any other standardized, pre-existing form from an organization or governing body). If a form does not have a **Print View** attached to it, selecting this option will just open the submission in its own window.*

Once final approval of a submission is achieved, its pending status is ended and it reaches the *terminal* status of, **Approved.** Once a submission is in a terminal status, its submitter, or anyone else in its flow, cannot take further actions on the submission, though, if permitted, editing is still possible.

*Note: An administrator has the ability to select **{{icon:arrow-uturn-left size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} Undo Approved**. This will cause the submission to return to the user that took the last action. It will be pending on them again, as if the final **Approve** action did not happen.*

- ### Request Info
You need additional information from another user who has a role in the form's workflow before proceeding with your approval.

When selected, **Send to** will appear below the action buttons with a drop down box labeled *"Select recipient."* Click to see a list of the available users in the flow. Select their name, and it will appear in the box.

Below that, the **Message** box allows you to type your communication for the requested information.

Click the purple **Request Info** button to proceed, or **Cancel** to go back to the **Available Actions** menu without submitting the request.

Once the **Request Info** option is selected, the submission will then be pending on the user that you requested the information from until the request is addressed. An email will send to that user, with your **Message**, and a link to the submission. If they "reply" directly from their email, their response will be entered into the **Notes** log for that submission. They can also follow the link and reply on the submission directly, which will populate a text box for their reply. As the user that initially requested the information, you will be notified, via email, when the response is received and the submission will return to being pending on you, the requestor, for continued action.

- ### Send Back
With this option, you can choose to return the submission to a user or users from a previous step in the workflow or to the initial submitter. The submission will then be pending on that user's action for it to progress again in its workflow toward finalization. ***Note**: You cannot send back a form to an *anonymous user*, which is anyone who does not have a user account in Flow Forms.*

If there is only one previous step or user, you will just be presented with a **Message** text box, which requires your input, before you can continue to the final **Send Back** button. If there were multiple previous steps and users, you will be presented with two choices:
	- **To initial submitter** - sends the submission back to whoever originally created it
	- **Last step** - sends the submission back to the user/s from the previous flow step.
If the previous step's type was:
		- *one or multiple* - a drop-down box allows you to select which user(s) to send back to
		- *all* - automatically sends to all group members of that flow step
		- *dynamic* - sends to whoever processed that step originally

Next, the **Message** text box will appear for you to explain why it is being sent back. You must enter a message in order to select the final **Send Back** button. You can also click **Cancel** to return to the **Available Actions** menu without proceeding.

When **Send Back** is selected, the form's submitter will receive a notification that their form's status is now **Sent Back.** The user that was selected for the submission to be sent back to will also receive a notification that includes your message and a link to the submission.

The submission will remain pending on the user you selected until they address the issue and submit their input. The flow-steps restart from that point in the flow, and any approvals or contributions that follow the step to which it was sent back have to be reissued and approved again in order for the submission to reach final approval.

- ### Deny
If, for whatever reason, a form cannot be approved or corrected, you can choose to **Deny** it. This will end its pending status and set the final status as **Denied.** When selected, a **Message** text box will appear for you to enter details for the denial. You must enter a message to select the red **Deny** button to submit. You can also click **Cancel** to return to the other **Available Actions.**

When the submission is denied, an email that contains your message will be sent to the form's submitter to notify them of the denial. This is the default; however, if desired, the form can notify any or all of the other users who contributed to the form in its flow. The data of the denied form will still be accessible and viewable since it has not been deleted.

*Note: An administrator has the ability to select **{{icon:arrow-uturn-left size-4 inline-block align-text-center}} Undo Denied**. This will cause the submission to return to the user that took the last action. It will be pending on them again, as if their **Deny** action did not happen.*
